“I have been in workshops led by Jill for a number of years. She keeps the group focused on the writing and not by the writer’s choices in the story. We write about our lives and whatever choices we make in the story are not fodder for discussion. How we describe things, how we move forward the narrative, how we bring in themes to our story, is what she has us discuss. I have become a much better writer since knowing Jill. I have also become a much better performer on stage since I have known her. She has a unique way of making the writing stand out but not forgetting that we are telling stories in front of an audience and need to captivate their attention and their hearts.”
